Finding Things That I Actually Use

If you saw my video tonight you will have seen my vegetable chopper which I already used for slicing vegetables but have now had an epiphany about using for chips.

I was all prepared to have baked potato with minced beef I had taken out of the freezer last night for my evening meal today. However, due to the fact that I was exhausted when I finished work at lunchtime today, things changed slightly.

Whilst Kathleen was pluttering around getting ready to head out to the Nathan Evans concert, I decided to have a bath and a nap. I have to say that was very relaxing and the subsequent nap made me feel a whole lot better. So much so that when I came back downstairs I was happy to agree to dog sit for Kathleen’s friend when they were at the concert.

This left me a bit of time to myself to have something to eat. Thanks to some discussions in the office today about cooking, I had a hankering for home made chips. What I didn’t have was normal potatoes. Thankfully I remembered I had the baby potatoes that I had brought back from the caravan, and decided I could just cut them up and have small chips. Then I remembered the vegetable chopper that Kathleen had bought me for when my hands were sore. Oh my goodness, that was a game changer.

It took less than two minutes to put the baby potatoes into the slicer thing with the square blades and I had enough for a portion of chips for dinner. Add a dash of oil to the airfryer, stir round the chipped potatoes and voila, easy, healthy and cheap chips.

Next on the list of things to try is the new stick blender for making mayonnaise. Watch this space to see how I get on.
