Brain Dump

Saturday Afternoon Brain Dump

Do you ever feel that you just haven’t got a handle on your life?  I do hope so, I would hate to be the only one who feels this way.

It’s a Saturday afternoon and I have things to do.  I need to cook the chicken I got from the supermarket yesterday.  It was in the reduced section so it must be cooked today.  It also must be cooked today because I want to have it for my office lunches with my home made coleslaw.

I have no clue what I want for dinner this evening, obviously chicken but what kind of chicken?  Do I want chicken with pasta and sauce?  Do I want chicken with chips and coleslaw?  Chicken fried rice, chicken with noodles and beansprouts?  Do I even want chicken now?  I will stick with getting it cooked first then decide.

I also want to upload at least another two videos to the Midlife Soul youtube channel, although with only 12 subscribers I may be flogging a dead horse with that one.  However, I like the stories of real life rather than billionaires so I will keep going for now.

The laundry is done thankfully, well almost done.  I have the last of my stuff in the dryer now and will go hang it up when it is done.  That will be me sorted with a variety of options for my return to work on Monday.

I should have bought a round hairbrush when I was at the shop yesterday.  My fringe is getting longer again so it would make sense to curl it a bit to keep it out of my eyes. Not to worry, I still have the gas heated brush from many years ago, I will just use that on Monday instead.  Don’t want to be looking unkempt on my first day back in the New Year.

I was also thinking that I would quite like a new travel mug for my morning commute.  I like the travel mugs with handles, much easier to deal with when sitting in traffic. At present I am using one of the £2.50 travel mugs from Asda, which serves it’s purpose.  As I was looking through the various options, I noticed that Thermos have travel mugs.  Now my Thermos flask is a marvel of temperature engineering.  I love it so much, it keeps things hot for 24 hours which is great for travelling.

That was when it dawned on me.  My morning commute is not travelling, it is a 20 minute drive that sometimes stretches depending on the queue at the big roundabout.  I make my tea in my travel mug normally just before I leave and it is perfect drinking temperature for when I am stuck at the roundabout.

If I got a Thermos travel mug, it would keep my tea way hotter than the cheap mug I use now.  This was a miscalculation of quite considerable proportions.  I have now decided I do not need a new travel mug as the one I have loses heat quickly enough that I can drink my tea when it is most convenient without scalding my tongue.

Having kept you all up to date with how my day is going, I am now going to go and get this chicken cooked so I can stop feeling guilty.

Catch you later.
