Mornings

Sunday Morning Update

Good morning and I hope you are all well this lovely Sunday morning.

I have unfortunately been awake since 4.30am due to sore throat and chest congestion.  It is now almost 6am so I thought I would make another cup of tea to sooth my throat and write a post to go on the website.  If you saw last nights video, I am sure you will agree, a video is not the best option the way I am feeling right now.

The good thing is that because I am a typist and admin person, it is actually quite relaxing for me to sit with my feet up and type on the laptop.  So today you get my thoughts in writing rather than in video format.

I have posted the recipe for the peach jam I made yesterday on here and will also post the recipe for the super easy flatbread.  Just so you can copy and paste the recipes and have them at home for when you need them.   I have also noted the many comments around the web that have been made regarding websites posting recipes at the bottom of a page full of stories about the food.  Point taken and my recipe is at the top of the page.

Today will I think, be filled with much sitting and making notes in my notepad.  Many cups of tea and cold and flu medications to try and feel a little less yukky.

This does however, give me a chance to sit and take stock of where we are at the moment and where we want to be in the future.

I know I want to keep a decent amount of preps on hand, both food and non food, to ensure I have a safety net in case of emergencies.  It is always good to have a bit of a back up so that if there is something happening in your life that demands your attention, you don’t need to worry about not having the basics to hand. Between broken bones, family bereavement and a number of instances of flu like illness, I know exactly how valuable having preps has been to my family.
